Hello,
My oldest is six and in kindergarten and we are looking forward to summer! He will stay him with my DH and his four year old sister and one year old brother for the first time this year - NO DAYCARE!!When I was growing up, my parents sent me to day camps, scout camps (overnight), church camps (both day and overnight), science-based camps at a public university (complete with the dorm experience), etc, and I LOVED them. They were good experiences for me. My son went to church day camp for a week last summer and loved it.This year we are going to find a couple more church camps to send him to, but I'm also wondering if some of the other more expensive options are worth it? For example - there's a geological land mark near us that does educational day camps for kids his age, they are half-days and a five-day session is $120. In the past it would have been a no-brainer for us, we were a two-income household and it was a viable alternative to daycare. However now, I'm not sure if it is worth the money? There are some sports complexes nearby as well that offer very popular camps in the $200-300/week range - those are more than I'm willing to spend at this point, but might consider if/when our situation changes. Thought on summer camp/education experiences? What was worth it for your family? How much did you spend and what ages were your kids?
Please help
I didn't find the right solution from the internet.
